Microsoft New England Research and Development Center (N.E.R.D.), 1st Floor

The building is on 1 Memorial Drive, Cambridge (MA) — which is actually on the campus of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It looks over the Charles River and the city of Boston. The conference is on the 1st floor of the building.

Please bring a government issued, photo ID with you. You will not be allowed in the building without the proper ID.

Public transports: 

  • On the T, take the Red Line to the Kendall/MIT stop.
  • Walk straight up Main Street toward the Longfellow Bridge (past the Post Office, Bank of America).
  • You will see the Parking Garage on your right, Take a right and you can enter the building from the side.
  • Approximately a 5 minute walk.

 

Coming by car

You are responsible for your own transportation and parking. There is some parking in the building at One Memorial Drive, and there are additional garages and lots in the Kendal Square area. Try searching for "parking near Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA" on Bing Maps or Google Maps. The closest lot appears to be Pilgrim Parking at 350 Kendall St, Cambridge, MA 02142.

Distance to the venue: 20 minutes walking distance, 5 minutes by car/taxi

This upscale hotel at University Park at MIT is 2.2 miles from the Museum of Fine Arts and 4 miles from the New England Aquarium. This luxury downtown hotel is set in a renovated jail, 3 minutes' walk from the Charles River Esplanade and 4 minutes from Beacon Hill's boutique shops and restaurants. The contemporary rooms and suites all have floor-to-ceiling windows, bathrooms, flat-screen TVs and free WiFi. Suites have river views, an extra half-bath, and separate living and dining areas. There's a huge central feature atrium, plus 5 stylish on-site bars and restaurants, a ballroom, meeting rooms and a 24-hour fitness center. Valet parking is available for a fee.

Boston Marriott Cambridge 3.5* (closest to the venue, see map)

Access to the venue: 10 minutes walking distance

A 4-minute walk from the Kendall/MIT subway station, this modern high-rise hotel is 1.8 km from Boston Common and 2.3 miles from Harvard Square. Straightforward rooms (some with river and city skyline views) feature flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers and WiFi (fee). Some rooms and all suites offer access to a lounge with complimentary continental breakfast and snacks. Suites also add separate living rooms. Set in a 1920s building in Back Bay, this understated hotel and conference center is a 4-minute walk from the Boston Back Bay station and 0.8 miles from the Boston Public Garden. Standard rooms offer private bathrooms, cable TV and coffeemakers. Upgraded rooms and suites add pull-out sofas. Free perks include continental breakfast and WiFi in public areas. The business center is open 24 hours a day, and the conference center features seminar rooms and a boardroom.
